ITINERARY

DAY 1: PHNOM PENH ARRIVAL
Welcome to Phnom Penh, you will be welcomed by your local English speaking guide. Check in and overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 2: PHNOM PENH
Visit the highlights of Phnom Penh including Wat Phnom – The hill temple. The site contains some good examples of Khmer architecture and statues. Continue along the lively riverfront to the Royal Palace, dated back to 1866 and Silver Pagoda (Wat Prakeo) which is in the same complex . Silver Pagoda has over 5000 heavy silver tiles that cover its floors. Then visit the National Museum, built in traditional Khmer style – this is the place for the most ancient Khmer arts, archaeological, and religious artifacts dating from the 4th to the 13th centuries. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure or you can take part in an optional activity.
In the afternoon, you will visit Tuol Sleng Museum & the Killing Fields.
This two sites contain a lot of dark, painful and bloody part of Khmer Rouge time. However, visit the places will let you learn more about the history of Cambodia and admire the country today. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 3: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP
Depart from Phnom Penh and travel through the Cambodian countryside and small villages towards Kampong Thom. En route, stop at the local market and explore more about Cambodia cuisine. Visit Sambor Prei Kuk, one of the most important pre-Angkorian sites. Sambor Prey Kuk was built in the Chenla period between the 6th and 7th century and there are over 100 well preserved temples scattered in the forest. The three main sites are linked by small and shady tracks. Enjoy a beautiful walk through the jungle with breath taking views. You will aslo visit the local villages around the temple complex. Continue to Siem Reap. Check in and overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 4: SIEM REAP
Today you will visit to the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. We stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with Colums, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple. Continue to Ta Prohm to eye-witness the gigantic fig trees growing over the temple making an incredible sight. Early evening, you will be taken to a temple for a blessing ceremony by Buddhist monks for happiness, prosperity and safety for your journey. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

DAY 5: SIEM REAP
In the morning, you will visit the most intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei – “the citadel of Women”. This afternoon visit the famous Angkor Wat Temple. Built by Suryavarman II, in early 12th century Angkor Wat is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing the Mount Merou, home of the gods. Overnight in Siem Reap.

DAY 6: SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP
Today you will embark the boat trip to Tonle Sap Lake – the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia, covering 250,000 hectares in the dry season. In monsoon season, Mekong river force the Tonle Sap River reverse its flow northwards back to the lake, spreading over the surrounding flood plain. You will visit Kompong Phluck, passing floating houses and impressive flooded forests and have a glimpse of local’s lives on the water. (From March to June, this route will be replaced by visiting the Chnong Kneas floating village due to dry season). Afternoon free for your own leisure.

Day 07: SIEM REAP DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel. Free for your own leisure until transferring to airport for your departure flight.
